The Landscape Institute’s Fall Events

Phyllis_Anderson_400x400Phyllis Andersen, landscape historian and LI faculty member, is doing a presentation on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. called  “Understanding the Field of  Landscape History.” This program will meet in Memorial Library on the 6th floor of 320 Newbury Street at The BAC in Boston. Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. is the Landscape Institute’s Annual Fall event. This year event honors the memory of V. Michael Weinmayr, former landscape architect and instructor at the Landscape Insitute.

A rich patina graces the cascade fountains at Rolling Ridge

NELDHA is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring the Preservation Roundtable and Workshop on the Fountains and Gardens of renowned landscape architect Fletcher Steele at Rolling Ridge, North Andover, Massachusetts on Monday, September 16, from 9:30 - 3 pm. 

Rolling Ridge is gathering Steele experts to help put Fletcher Steele and Rolling Ridge on the Massachusetts garden history map. Rolling Ridge is a destination place with a hidden gem up to this point, but it can be a showplace of the genius of one the nation’s great landscape architects. Our National Historic Landmarks include two of Steele's designs: Naumkeag in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and the Amphitheatre in Camden, Maine.
