2012 History Network Slide Slam

                                                                                                                 Sussex Prairies Garden

On Thursday, January 26th, the History Network hosted its annual "Slide Slam," kicking off NELDHA's 2012 programming year with an exciting variety of landscape presentations highlighting member design projects and travel excursions undertaken over the past year.

James McCrohon (James McCrohon Garden Design) led audience members through his version of a Californian paradise garden, filled with edible plants and a wide assortment of shrubs, vines and perennials.  Sally Muspratt (Sally Muspratt Landscape Design, Inc.) shared two recent projects highlighting her skills transforming problematic landscape areas into delightful garden spaces.  As landscape and silk painting designer Susan Quateman captured the audience's imagination with a gorgeous display of garden banners featured over the past summer at Castle Hill, Ipswich.

Traveling to England, Melanie Neuman (Fiori Secchi Gardens) toured the Sussex Prairies Garden & Bed and Breakfast, a visually stunning 6-acre perennial garden featuring a series of interlocking arcs richly planted in the naturalistic style. Sharing a bit of English landscape history, Karen Falb led the audience through William Kent's historic landscapes at Chiswick House and Rousham House as LI Instructor John Furlong "slammed" through a series of breathtaking landscape images, featuring landscapes created by many well-known designers including Jans Jenson.

The History Network would like to thank all our presenters for a highly enjoyable event.
